What We Specialize In

Corrective Chiropractic Care Not all chiropractic care is the same. While most chiropractors focus merely on the elimination of pain and symptoms, we pride ourselves on finding the cause of your ailment, correcting it, restoring you back to optimum health. The 5 main areas we specialized in are:

1. Fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia affects at least 6 million women in the US each year, and many patients aren’t getting answers anywhere else. We work with these patients on nutritional needs and lifestyle advice as well. We offer supplements and products to help you live pain free.

2. Herniated/ Degenerative Discs. These patients have usually tried multiple medical routes with little to no help. Many of them are facing surgery and would love to find a more natural solution. That is where we come in. Our success with these patients is incredible. Most patients present with structural changes thus accelerating the degenerative process. Pain relief is often swift.

3. Arthritis. Osteoarthritis alone affects nearly 21 million people, accounts for nearly a quarter of primary care visits, and half of all NSAID use in the U.S. The largest affected group is the baby boomers. We combat the progression of arthritis with specific care tailored to increasing range of motion and increasing the ability to function without pain.

4. Neuropathies (Nerve Pain). Sciatica, numbness, tingling, radiculopathies, and other nevre problems fall into this group. This is a very motivated patient because the pain is very severe often interfering with multiple activities of daily living, such as sleep, walking, and sitting. These patients respond very quickly, and have wonderful results under our care.

Sciatica refers to a group of symptoms that are generally caused by a problem in the lower back known as a radiculopathy (when a never root that connects to the sciatic nerve is irritated or compressed). Common lower back problems and spinal conditions that can cause sciatica include:

Degenerative disc disease: Even though disc degeneration is a natural process that occurs with aging, one or more degenerated discs have the possibility to irritate a nerve root and cause sciatica. Degenerative disc disease is diagnosed after a weakened disc results in excessive micro-motion at the corresponding vertebral level and inflammatory proteins, located inside the disc, become exposed which irritates the area (and also the nerve roots).

Lumber spinal stenosis: Commonly causes sciatica due to a narrowing of the spinal canal. This is more common in adults over the age of 60, and generally results from one or more of the following: overgrowth of soft tissue, enlarged facet joints, or a bulging disc placing pressure on the nerve roots as they exit the spine.

Lumbar herniated disc: Occurs when the soft inner core of the disc extrudes through the fibrous outer core of the disc. This irritates the contiguous nerve root as it exits the spine. Generally, it is the thought that an injury or sudden twisting motion can lead to an eventual disc herniation and sciatica. Most discs, however, weaken due to repetitive stress and the end result is a herniation. Herniated discs are sometimes referred to as a slipped disc, bulging disc, ruptured disc, protruding disc, or a pinched nerve. Sciatica is the most common symptom of a lumbar herniated disc.

5. Headaches and Migraines. Approximately 22 million women are affected by migraines alone in the United States. Because these patients have suffered for many years (some since childhood), they are looking for long term relief and a life without drugs. Headaches are not normal, and are not caused by a lack of aspirin in the blood stream. Headaches are mainly triggered by two possibilities, and Dr. Wegmann screens for both issues.

Wellness Chiropractic Care Once your health and wellness have been restored to your God-given potential, Wellness Chiropractic Care is all about maintaining the integrity of your nervous system and teaching you how to maintain total wellness throughout your entire life.

Pediatric Chiropractic Care Not all chiropractors see infants and children. While most chiropractors focus merely on the adult population, we pride ourselves in complete family care. Chiropractic check-ups and adjustments should begin at birth and continue throughout life to ensure maximum health, vitality, and total wellness.

Pre-Natal Chiropractic Care Not all chiropractors adjust pregnant women. It is well known now in both the medical and chiropractic communities that chiropractic care is extremely effective for not only the pregnant mother, but also the baby she is carrying in the womb. Chiropractic care when started in “the womb” and continued throughout “from womb to tomb” will ensure that all people involved are as healthy as possible.

Lifestyle Evaluations It is now well known in nearly every area of health care that the only person responsible for your health is YOU! Because of this fact, we employ lifestyle evaluations and make recommendations for changes in the necessary areas of your life. These include balancing your stress and peace, nutrition, supplements, water intake, and exercise to name a few.

Seminars and Advanced Workshops
With our practice’s cornerstone being patient education, our seminars and advanced workshops bring the latest information to you about health and wellness on a variety of topics. This on-going education insures that you can make the best possible decisions for you and your family’s health and well-being. These seminars are many times held right on sight after patient hours in our office and at other times throughout the community at churches and other clubs and organizations.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAYING

Dr. Mike and Dr. Kallie are some of the most progressive pure chiropractic Dr.'s in the field. They believe in a program of healthy living and maintenance, rather than just treating symptoms and other problems. Your body needs to be healthy to deal with our surroundings and they prepare your body to fight any problem it may come in contact with. Chiropractic changed my life starting at Discover Chiropractic. I owe so much to the world because The Wegmanns gave so much to me.

They really paid a lot of attention to my problem area, which is the reason I went. When I told them where I was in pain they put much of their focus on eliminating discomfort in that area. I really loved that they offered on-site X-Rays. It was so convenient, and I didn't have to spend any extra time driving somewhere else to get them done. Not only did I find a parking spot right away, but I knew my car was safe because the spots were designated and close to the entrance. At some of the other places I've been to, the chiropractor had super cold hands, so I was a little nervous I would have to deal with that here, but I didn't at all. I was more comfortable than I've ever been anywhere else. As soon as I walked through the door, I was immediately greeted by the friendly staff. They went out of their way to make me feel special and appreciated.
